Tropical Storm Mirinae (Santi)


Tropical storm Santi (international name Mirinae) is set to bring strong winds and rains on All Saints Day.

Synopsis:
At 4:00 pm today, the center of Typhoon "SANTI" (MIRINAE) {0921} was located based on satellite and surface data at 800 kms East of Baler, Aurora (15.8°N, 129.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 150 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph. It is moving West at 20 kph.

Forecast:
The provinces of Aurora and Northern Quezon including Polillo Island will have stormy weather with rough to very rough seas. The rest of Central Luzon, Isabela, Ifugao, Quirino, Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Pangasinan, Rizal, rest of Quezon, Camarines Provinces and Catanduanes will experience rains and occasional gusty winds with moderate to rough seas. The rest of the country will be mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and isolated thundertorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast will prevail over Northern and Eastern Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the Northeast and Northwest with slight to moderate seas except during thunderstorms.
