According to Fr. Mario Sobrejuanite
there are 4 consequences for those
who are staying very long in their position
Excerpt from his homily
November 29, 2009
1st Sunday of Advent
1. Feeling status quo attitude:
Do not rock the boat!
OK na yan! Nagawa ko na yan!
No more challenges.
If you have no more creativity,
be assigned to another post...
or step down
2. Feeling indispensable:
Pag wala ako, tutumba yan, magigiba ito!
Pag wala ako, masisira ang plano nyo!
Feeling alam ang lahat,
Mahirap turuan.
Ako lang ang dapat sinusunod!
Feeling Messiah
If you feel unteachable,
try to step down.
Hoy... bago ka dumating dyan,
nandyan na ang simbahan,
pagalis mo,
nandyan pa rin ang simbahang iyan.
3. Feeling owner of the position
Itong teritoryong ito akin yan...
Kaharian ko ito.
If you own the position
which is just an assignment,
nakakatakot yang taong yan...
4. Feeling all are enemies:
Any one who threaten that position,
eliminate, eradicate, tanggalin, patayin...
This is exactly what happened in
Maguindanao!
If you feel, akin eto, kaharian ko ito,
at walang makakapagayos nito kundi ako!
Nalulunod na,
nahihibang na
sa kapangyarihan
nalalasing na,
nalalango na,
sa pwesto at kumportableng buhay...
to threaten that,
it will hit you back.
