A Saint, A Champion of World Democracy

Excerpt from a talk on PRAYER delivered by the late Philippines President Corazon "TITA CORY" Aquino at DLS-CSB Theater, year 2004:

"No doubt all of us... have gone through some kind of suffering and I am sure that most if not all have prayed and prayed real hard during those very difficult times."

"I would like to quote from Ninoy's letter to Soc Rodrigo on June 19, 1973."
"I prayed the rosary..." Jesus' life "was to become my inspiration. Here was a God-Man who preached nothing but love and was rewarded with death." "...How puny were my sufferings compared to Him but whose only purpose was to save mankind..." Why do you cry? I have given you ... a great wife... (and a caring mother)." I knew He would not burden me with a load I could not carry. I therefore resigned myself to His will."
"Ninoy and I agreed that we would pray the rosary every night at eight o' clock, he in the Fort Magsaysay (Laur, Nueva Ecija) and my children and I in Times Street (Quezon City). That way we would know that at that time we were thinking of each other and praying for each other." "I hope you will join me and many others in praying for our country."

Lit, Light, Melt, Mold to Light Again...

I am burning the candle of my life
in the dark with no one to benefit
from its light,

The candle slowly melts away
soon its wick will be burned out,
and the light is gone!

If someone will only gather
the melted wax, reshape it,
give it a new wick
for another fleeting moment
my candle can once again
light the dark
be of service
one more time
and then
Good-bye
